Greetings! Remember those scenes from a movie that took place in the South back in the days of the Jim Crow laws where black women were walking home after a long day of work? Heels, stockings, uniforms, hot & sweaty, but also fearing for their lives as they walked exposed on the streets until they reached the safety of home? I think “The Help” is one of those movies. Feeling like this lately? Tired, wondering when you will reach home, get off your tired feet, change out of your binding clothes, and be safe and not having to worry about what’s coming next? Feeling like it’s been a long time coming and wondering when it’s going to be alright? I’m not going to sugar coat this, it’s going to be a rough year, but it will be ok. Don’t label what’s happening and remember to find the blessings. The brakes recently went out on my daughter’s car and she had to pay $260. She was so upset and went down the whole FML spiral. I had to stop her and show the blessings. She was in her friend’s apartment complex and immediately noticed she had no brakes and was able to just park the car, when she was actually on her way to an appointment where she would have been going 55mph on a one lane road with stop lights. Imagine if her brakes went then; the medical bills, the insurance hike, a totaled car and no money for a replacement. My fiancée was able to drive the car with the emergency brake to the mechanic so we didn’t need to get a tow truck. We have a wonderful mechanic who actually rigged something with her brakes so it wasn’t so costly. She happened to be off from work while the car was in the shop so she didn’t need a ride or Uber anywhere. Once I laid that all out, she was able to see that what she was facing was of course inconvenient, but a small inconvenience to pay when you think of what could have happened and instead of the Universe screwing her over, the Universe was looking out for her. So remember this as we go through life, you are supported and the Universe is looking out for you. We’re burning off some serious karma right now, so no promises on what life will bring, but remember to find the blessings in whatever comes.

“Promise me you will always remember you're braver than you believe, stronger than you seem, and smarter than you think.”
